kodja place | kojonup

kodja place was a collaborative competition entry between m.e. VITTINO architectS and Arbor Vitae landscape architects. the idea was, in essence, to assimilate the project into the context of the main street precinct by extending it along the street and integrating the landscape through the stories embodied in the history of kojonup. through the use of a standard farm shed structure for the main exhibition space the budget was stretched much further, making it possible to incorporate clear architectural and environmental design principles. the close collaboration with the community and the desire to create a world class exhibition space were integral parts of the design process and the resulting project has been winner of the 2008 ABC Regional Museum Award. http://www.kodjaplace.net.au/
